Volleyball

Volleyball requires explosive power, agility, and endurance. However, symmetrical functional movement patterns must be established prior to skill training to help the athlete reach her full potential.

In order to develop efficient spiking, blocking, setting, serving, and diving, volleyball players must develop adequate explosive power. Additionally, because of the anaerobic nature of the sport, our program is designed to involve plyometric drills. Therefore, speed and agility coupled with vertical jumping specific to the game are primary goals in CORE training programs.  By addressing all components of a volleyball program, all players, beginners to elite, will excel with CORE training.

“I came to CORE the summer before my final high school volleyball season. The CORE staff pushed me hard, and I got into the best shape I had ever been in and had much so much fun doing it. I looked forward to coming into the gym three times a week. Going into pre-season I was so in shape and so ready for my two-a-day practices. It was the first pre-season I ever experienced during which I wasn’t excruciatingly sore. Thanks to all my hard work and the CORE staff’s help and motivation, my team qualified for the state tournament and won our sixth straight conference championship. CORE is such a great place I continued working out after the season was over, and still work out there twice a week. Thanks to CORE, I had a great senior season of volleyball and continue to enjoy my weekly exercise.”
