Arianne Missimer, DPT, RD, LDN, CSCS

Owner CORE Fitness

Arianne Missimer, owner of CORE Fitness, is a Registered Dietitian, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), and a recent graduate of Neumann University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.  She is also a Functional Movement Screen Specialist, National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT), and Certified Titletist Performance Institute (T.P.I.) Golf Fitness Instructor and T.P.I. Golf Medical Professional.

 

In 2002, Arianne received her BS in Dietetics combined with a fitness concentration at the University of Delaware. She played basketball for St. Mark's High School, Delaware AAU, and the UD intramural team. At the present time, she is actively involved in ballroom dancing and performs at charitable events throughout the tri-state area. Arianne trains a diverse group of clientele, including recreational and competitive athletes of all levels, to improve their overall performance through proper core conditioning and functional training. As a RD, her passion lies in sports nutrition, and she plans to become board certified in sports dietetics in the near future. With Arianne’s eleven years of experience in the fitness and nutrition field, and her passion for working with the physically challenged, she is committed to restoring optimal health and fitness to people of all ages and abilities, including those with acute and chronic conditions, functional limitations, and disabilities.

Training Philosophy: “I believe in a comprehensive program that integrates all areas of fitness beginning with corrective exercise. You must identify and correct faulty movement patterns before adding fitness on

Adam Marshall, NASM-CPT, NFPT-CPT, CSCS

Performance Specialist

Adam Marshall is CORE Fitness’s advanced trainer. In 2004, he gradated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and is currently attending Neumann University to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

He loves teaching boot camp class and takes pride in seeing his clients reach their goals. He enjoys watching the Phillies and Eagles, jamming on his electric guitar, rock climbing, and running in his spare time. Adam is also the proud father of Alex, a beautiful three-year-old puggle.

Training Philosophy: “I believe that all people can achieve their goals if they truly believe in themselves. The first step to a healthier lifestyle is training the brain, then the muscle.”

Ashley Paoli, NASM- CPT

Performance Specialist

In 2010, Ashley Paoli graduated from Delaware Tech with her Associate's Degree in Exercise Science. She is now pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Behavior Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning at the University of Delaware. Certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, she focuses on special populations. Ashley is an avid Phillies fan and loves all sports.

Training Philosophy: “My goal is to inspire people to recognize and push past their self-imposed limits. My job is to help them see that working out and feeling good is not all about being the media's ideal image, but about overcoming your own obstacles and trying new things that bring you satisfaction. I want my clients to feel strong in body, mind, and soul because that will keep everything else together.”

Paul Roberts, NASM-CPT Kinesis Instructor           

Paul is our Kinesis Trainer at CORE Fitness. After participating in “Fitness for a Year, Change for a Lifetime,” sponsored by Out and About Magazine and CORE Fitness, Paul Roberts became inspired to help others reach their fitness and health goals and started training. Paul graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts in 1986 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/Business Administration. At Mt. Pleasant High School, he was a member of the state champion football team.

Currently, he is employed by Barclays Bank Delaware in Wilmington. He is also a board member of the Middletown Ice Hockey Club. A dedicated member of the community, Paul donates blood to the Delmarva Blood Bank Lifesaver Program, helps raise money for the Delaware Special Olympics, and participates in the annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge. He plans to continue his education in the health field and acquire additional fitness certifications. 

Training Philosophy: “Exercise should be fun. I believe that I can help individuals meet their personal fitness goals by developing exercise programs that they enjoy. It is important for me to help people realize that it is never too late to make positive fitness choices and that we can work together to incorporate them into our everyday lives.”

Jessica Rombach, RD, LDN 

Executive Assistant, Registered Dietitian

Jessica Rombach is the executive assistant and Registered Dietitian for CORE Fitness. She graduated from University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics as well as a minor in business and biology. Jessica is a recently Registered Dietitian and a graduate student at the University of Delaware where she is working towards her Masters in Human Nutrition while doing research for the National Institutes of Health. She loves to compete in 5ks and half -marathons throughout the region for various charities. She enjoys running, hiking, mountain biking, and swimming. 

Nutrition Philosophy:"I believe nutrition is not an exact science, just as no two peoples' bodies behave or feel the same. To find a healthy balance with nutrition takes patience and dedication to unearthing how your body works and understanding food."

Johanna Parcher, 

NFPT-CPT

Performance Specialist, Self-Defense Instructor

Second Degree Taekwondo Black Belt, World Top 10 Champion, and Maryland State Champion, Johanna Parcher, spent six years teaching Taekwondo in Maryland. For the last two years, she was also general manager of an LA Fitness studio in Houston, Texas. She is pursuing a degree in Health and Fitness and loves helping people work toward their own fitness goals via personal training, coaching, and fitness clinics.

   

Training Philosophy: “With a goal in mind, we can achieve anything if we only have the motivation. My goal is to be that motivation, to help others push past the hard times and to cheer them on to leading the happy, healthy lifestyle of their dreams. Fitness is more than just a fad; I believe it is a way of life that anyone can enjoy.”

James Phillips

Performance Specialist, Volleyball Clinic Instructor

James has coached volleyball since 2002 and is currently the head coach for boys' and girls' volleyball at A.I. duPont High School. He was also the head coach of the University of Delaware men's volleyball team from 2008-2011 and voted National College Volleyball Federation Coach of the Year in 2011. He played volleyball at St. Elizabeth’s High School and the University of Delaware. In 2004, James received his BA in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of Delaware and is currently working toward his Associate Degree in Exercise Science at Delaware Technical Community College. He enjoys yoga, hiking, and playing tennis.

Training Philosophy:  "I believe that being healthy and fit is a life long learning process. Give yourself the opportunity to be the best you can be by working hard everyday."

Ryan Hastings

Performance Specialist

In 2010 Ryan Hastings graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Promotion and a Specialty in Fitness. He intends to complete the ACSM Health Fitness Specialist Exam to expand his education in the health field. Recently engaged, he plans to marry Brittney Sheldon next July. Ryan is an ardent surfer, hiker, mountain biker, snowboarder, and competitor in various fitness events. He is also a member of the Delaware Army National Guard.

Training Philosophy: "A healthy life style comes from a strong mind, body, and soul gained through Arête, Greek for “virtue." Arête also encompasses the pursuit of excellence. In ancient Greece, people sought to extend themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually to reach their full potential in constant pursuit of Arête. My goal is to develop effective, enjoyable, and dynamic exercise programs for my clients to help them achieve their lifestyle and fitness goals while keeping them motivated."

 Nicole Smith

Weight Management Counselor  

Nicole Smith, a weight management counselor, obtained her Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from La Salle University and Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Saint Leo University. Since 2007, she has been working in the mental health field with clients ranging from children to older adults in numerous different settings. She has worked with people experiencing motivational issues, addiction struggles, depression, anxiety, substance disorders, eating disorders, as well as many other issues. In her free time, Nicole enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Therapeutic approach: "You have the power to change. Negative and irrational thoughts can keep us from reaching goals and moving forward. Weight management counseling with help and guidance is a way to address any barriers you have to your goals."

Sarah Sanchez

Massage Therapist

In 2001, Sarah received her certification in massage therapy from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in Lindon, Utah.  She has been practicing for ten years.  Sarah worked briefly in Wilmington before moving to Chicago where she gained valuable experience at the beautiful inspirational Aveda spa.  We are pleased that Sarah now brings her healing touch to CORE Fitness Studio.

 

Healing Philosophy: "Massage therapy goes hand-in-hand with the ideas I have for health. I always reach for a glass of water and a helping massage hand before the Advil comes out. Hydrationand touch can do a lot to keep you feeling your best."

Zoey Anne Missimer

CORE Mascott

Zoey, CORE Fitness’s one and only Boxer-Terrier-Chihuahua Mix, is a vital component of the team. She keeps the trainers and clients motivated and working hard all day long with her enthusiasm and unbelievably cute demeanor. Zoey is only five years old and is a graduate of Bark Busters University. She enjoys licking, naps in the afternoon, walks on sunny days, and always appreciates a belly rub. An endlessly devoted companion, Zoey is a delightful part of CORE Fitness Studio.

Ongoing education for both trainers and clients to enhance programs and teach clients.

At CORE Fitness, our trainers are not only certified but also required to attend ongoing training to ensure your personal program is as current and effective as possible.  In turn, our trainers are expected to educate you as you train to ensure you can take what you’ve learned outside the studio and implement it in your day-to-day life.  Performance training doesn’t stop when you walk out of the CORE Fitness studio door, and our goal is to ensure you can succeed even when your trainer isn’t by your side.
